KitchenBridge I: Karlos Arguiñano’s Txakoli K-5

Txakoli is a slightly sparkling white wine produced in the Basque coast. We took advantage of the stay of our guests in this area to visit the Txakoli K-5 Winery of the multifaceted media personality chef Karlos Arguiñano, located in Aia. 

 

Karlos Arguiñano received us in person and talked to us about his personal life and activities, as well as his txakoli winery and the wines produced there. Located at 300 m above sea level, surrounded by 15 hectares of spectacular vineyard slopes and a forest of chestnut, oak and beech trees, the winery is a modern building with sober, elegant and functional lines and views of the Cantabrian Sea.

An idyllic place where 2 exceptional txakoli wines are produced: K5 Argiñano and K Pilota.

We took advantage of the visit to taste the wines, accompanied by some typical dishes of Basque cuisine.
