KitchenBridge I: Basque Culinary Center
The Basque Culinary Center is a world-class pioneering academic institution. The Board of Trustees is comprised of MONDRAGON UNIBERTSITATEA, seven of the best Basque chefs, leading companies in the food and beverage sector and the AZTI Tecnalia Technology Center. It also has an International Council involving the participation of eleven of the most influential chefs in the world. The Basque Culinary Center is aimed at higher education, research, innovation and the promotion of gastronomy and food.
Since its creation in September 2011, the Basque Culinary Center seeks to be the international benchmark in these fields to promote gastronomy as a lever for socio-economic development through the School of Gastronomic Sciences and the Research and Innovation Center.
Enrique Fleischmann, Corporate Chef at Sammic, has been a professor at this institution since its founding. Since June 2018, Sammic is a BCC sponsor company, acting as the official supplier of vacuum packing and low temperature cooking equipment, offering not only equipment but also training in these areas.
On a guided tour offered by Nerea Alkorta, our guests were able to learn what this grand institution represents and how it contributes to keeping Basque Country in the world elite of gastronomy.
